There are many people who deny the divinity of Jesus Christ and lift up humans as divine.
The divinity of man, the divine spark, our higher self, the god within, “we are little gods” — there are many ways to express this heretical belief. It is rooted in the biggest lie “you shall be as gods”, uttered by satan himself in the garden of Eden (Genesis 3:5). Anyone who believes that humans are gods, and that we can activate God’s blessings by using our thoughts, words, and faith, is believing THE LIE.
The Prosperity Gospel includes this mistaken doctrine. I have never encountered any prosperity gospel adherant who doesn’t believe in both.
To those who believe that we are gods, I would like to ask one simple question:
Why was Eve deceived by satan when he said “you shall be as gods” if she was ALREADY a god?
Remember, Eve was without sin at that time. So did we become gods after the fall from grace? It makes absolutely no sense and is totally unbiblical. Anyone I have asked can not answer this question and no one will be able to answer it biblically.
The New Agers believe the same thing, “we are gods”. The Prosperity Teaching and New Age Thought are very similar since they received their doctrine from the same source — satan.
